Dancing from the Heart

  • Are you mastering belly dance technique, but want to take your dancing a stage further?
  • Are you an aspiring newcomer who wants to learn the secrets from day one?
  • Have you been wowed by how well professional belly dancers can express the different emotions in the music?
  • Does the idea of trying to express emotions whilst dancing fill you with dread, or make you worry about looking silly?
  • Then our masterclass is definitely for you!

In Dancing from the Heart, we will be using lots of tried and tested tips, techniques, and exercises to help us identify, connect with, and express appropriate emotions in performances. Throughout the workshop, we will build up our skill set, our emotional portrayal, our emotional moves, and identify and discuss differing emotions in well known bellydance music. We will end the lesson by expressing our emotions to a classic emotional Egyptian piece, practising what we’ve learnt.

By the end of the lesson, not only will you be able to add the wow-factor to your dancing, but you’ll also have the confidence and knowledge to identify and express the relevant emotions, without the fear or dread!!

The fantastic thing about Dancing from the Heart, is that it is never too early or late in your dancing journey to learn it and apply it!

Are you ready to add that extra level to your belly dance repertoire, confidence, and performance skills? Then we will be delighted for you to join us! RBSB Teacher Julie is known for her warmth, kindness and dedicated delivery of bellydance lessons. An accomplished performer, Julie is in demand for bellydance shows throughout the UK and is also a fire dancer! She holds bellydance instructional qualifications and enjoys mentoring and professional dancer development with Rachel Bennett.

Bring a yoga mat or a towel to sit on, a cardigan or jumper to keep warm, a bottle of water, a notepad and pen, and an open and enquiring mind!
